Sushi Bites Back in Director Noboru Iguchi’s Dead Sushi

We all know what happens when we eat sushi — in my case, sheer culinary delight — but what would happen if sushi suddenly decided to eat us? Although I’m not entirely sure, I think we might transform into flesh-munching zombies. That’s the topic filmmaker extraordinaire Noboru Iguchi ponders in his latest cinematic freak-out “Dead Sushi”. In true Iguchi fashion, the film features a wide variety of hyper-violence and martial arts-related mayhem. And, yes, you’ll get to see carnivorous sushi attach themselves to supple Japanese tongues. A potential instant classic? I’ll let you be the judge of that. It’s also worth mentioning that Rina “High Kick Girl” Takeda is counted amongst the cast. How impossibly cool is that?

When you’ve stopped hyperventilating, check out the trailer below.

About Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
