2009 Superbowl Movie Trailers Preview
Odds and Ends, Videos — By Nix on January 12, 2009 |
What? They’re still showing movie trailers during the Superbowl? Wait, when did they started doing this again? Because you know, after waiting all game for some great movie trailers last year, I remember not getting a whole lot for my time. In fact, I remember not getting all that many trailers at all. Or maybe the trailers were so snooze-worthy that I have washed away the lackluster showing from my memory. Could be. Hopefully 2009 will be a better year for major movie trailers, with Variety reporting a number of high-profile movies making their first appearances to the masses, including the very first trailer for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and the most recent one for “The Fast and Furious 4″.
Here are the sure-things that will be debuting trailers during the Superbowl, which will cost the studios $3 million a pop, up $300 grand from last year. Maybe the trick was to get them to pay more per commercial? Go figure.
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”
“Star Trek”
“G.I. Joe”
“Angels and Demons”
“Monsters vs. Aliens”
“Land of the Lost”
“The Fast and the Furious 4″
“Up”
Some of the maybe, maybe-not’s:
“Wolverine”
“Night at the Museum 2″
“Ice Age”
“Race to Witch Mountain”
“G-Force”
“Terminator Salvation”
“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”
“Watchmen”
Below: Not into big, muscle-bound men crashing into each other? How about thin, sweaty lingerie models doing likewise? God bless America.
