People seem to have issues with Len Wiseman. I don’t know why. I know exactly what I’m getting when I see a Len Wiseman movie. And I’m not even that smart. So what are the rest of you complaining about? I expect slick visuals with a slightly dark, perhaps blue-ish tint to my visuals, and a fanboy sensibility. Plus, Wiseman managed not only to get Kate Beckinsale in a skintight pleather outfit for not one, not two, but three movies, so yeah, that’s something to love him for.
Wiseman’s latest is a remake of Paul Verhoeven’s “Total Recall”, with Colin Farrell stepping in for Arnold Schwarzenegger. That, of course, is a major “change”, so it’s expected the hero of this remake won’t be going around busting heads with brute force, but rather speed and guile. From the looks of this Chinese 30-second teaser spot that has popped up on the Interwebs (a foreign version of the Comic Con teaser, perhaps?), that’s exactly what Wiseman is going for with Farrell in the lead.
Great moments in the 30-second spot: slick action, Kate Beckinsale being a bad, bad girl, and John Cho sporting absolutely ridiculous facial hair. Yikes.
Also starring Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, Jessica Biel, Ethan Hawke, Bokeem Woodbine, and Will Yun Lee. Recalling it all for you later this year, August 3, 2012.

Update: Not the WonderCon teaser, but a 30-second teaser preview for the teaser trailer due this Sunday.
