Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester in Strike Back TV Series

STRIKE BACK (Cinemax) – Watch Free Episodes

Easily the best action TV series going at the moment, cable or otherwise. Not only is it ridiculously fun, but it sometimes feels like an entire season’s worth of “24″ crammed into one episode. The premise finds a former American Delta Force operator teaming up with a British commando to battle terrorists around the globe under the auspice of a British secret counter-terrorism unit. The show makes great use of its International locations, and the action is top-notch. The show has been around in a previous incarnation (co-starring Andrew Lincoln of “Walking Dead” fame, natch) that didn’t include the Delta Force operator (aka the American element, played, curiously enough, by an Aussie!), but never having seen it, I can’t speak for the show’s earlier version. I only know that the new, International-flavored “Strike Back” is one hell of a ballsy show, with each episode capable of giving the best Hollywood action movie a run for its money. Take, for example, this killer clip from the show, that features one of the best running gunfights to ever be put on TV, and you get the quality in terms of action beats that “Strike Back” goes for pretty much in every episode:

Justified is my current favorite show on TV. I’ve seen the first four episodes of Season 3, and it picks up the badassness right where Season 2 left of, but cranks it up a few notches to boot!

Great list. “Justified” is just a great show hands down!! “Strike Back!” is also a greta show. lots of action and some great T&A too. “Homeland” is a mindfuck and a half but also an absolutely amazing show!
Haven’t seem “Alpahs or “White Collar” yet. But if you like “White Collar” you should check out “Leverage”

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Nix

Really? I am shocked you haven’t seen “Alphas” yet, I would think it would be right up your alley. It’s basically X-Men on TV! That’s your thing, man! And I’ve seen Leverage. It’s on my DVR, but it’s getting up there in seasons. It was either Leverage or White Collar, and since I just got into White Collar last year, I thought I’d pimp that instead.

      • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Well at least you know about it! LOL. Yeah i still don’t have cable and Alphas seems to be off Virg’s radar. I’ll make sure it gets a blip, and we’ll play catch up.

Check the link I have in the article. I think Syfy has all the episodes online and are offering them for free.

            SUHWEET!!!

White Collar is fantastic. Its star Matt Bomer is among the most talented actors to come along in years and obviously the hottest.

White Collar is one of my favorite shows. Where is Suits.. it is my #1 shows then there is Person of Interest also….

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Nix

Suits is okay, but stretches credulity that a guy can pretend to be a lawyer and no one bothers to check his references. Person of Interest is already a hit show, so it doesn’t really need more advertising.

  • TheStrongestThereIs.com

A show that’s really picking up steam and I hope continues is Person of Interest. They have done alot of stuff in that show to really take it past a weekly concept routine. Some other article I was reading described the show as “How to do a super hero show right.” At first I didn’t pay attention to that, but given the later episodes of the season, its definitely an awesome show. Though, the title of “how to do a superhero show right” goes to the show Misfits, hands down.

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

I saw that articale last week, and it got my attention. I’m actually putting the show on my list of “To watch” now. I’ve heard great stuff, but i always missed the show. “Misfits” is another show I want to catch up on.

      • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Nix

Person of Interest is essentially The Punisher. Jim Caviezel is Frank Castle and the gimpy guy from “Lost” is Microchip.

        • http://twitter.com/BrentMMcKnight Brent McKnight

That sounds rad. I’ve been interested in Person of Interest, but haven’t had a chance to catch it.

  • Jason aka sno :-P

Can’t wait for the Season of Justified Nix!!! will have to check out Alphas and see what i’ve been missing out on. :-P

    • http://twitter.com/BrentMMcKnight Brent McKnight

It’s so F’n good I can barely stand it. Not to give anything away, but there are some badass new villains.

  • Avalon

I whole-heartedly agree with you on all counts… EXCEPT Alphas. I so wanted to like it, but I find it soooooo boring. Mutant X had more character. But bring on the new seasons of Justified, White Collar, Homeland and most definitely Strike Back.

  • CJ

Everyone should definitely check out White Collar! Seriously, there is no better chemistry out there than what Matt Bomer and TimDeKay bring to their characters.

  • Icekendee

Strike back one of the best action tv series.

    • alex proteau

i agree with you everything is there to make a perfect show

  • Ursnsd34

GREAT ARTICLE! We are so blinded by advertising and special effects that we forgot the most important things in movies: acting and storyline.
I would like to add The Killing ( Forbridelsen) tv series , the original from Danemark, as the best police investigation series i ve ever seen. It’ s like reading an excelent policier .I’ve not seen the US version of it, but i heard it’s good. Give it a try.

PS I’m not just writting…. i know and i ‘ve watchd ALL the best tv shows out there for the last 10 years.
