5-Minute Red Band Trailer for Paul Bettany’s Legion

Scott Stewart’s “Legion” went into Comic-Con ’09 as a mostly unnoticed film, but I think it came out getting a little bit more attention and respect. Deservedly so, in my opinion, if you’re into the genre. This looks like a classic last stand in a haunted house movie, except the haunted house is a diner in the middle of nowhere, and the monsters are warmongering angels. The filmmakers called it “Angels with Machine Guns” and I think you’ll agree, they weren’t kidding. Check out the 5-minute Red Band trailer for “Legion” that was shown at this year’s Comic-Con below.

After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, a group of strangers stranded in a remote truck stop diner in the Southwest unwittingly become humanity’s last line of defense when they discover the diner’s young waitress is pregnant with the messiah.

Starring Dennis Quaid, Paul Bettany, Kevin Durand, Doug Jones, Kate Walsh, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Willa Holland, and Charles S. Dutton. Scott Stewart directs.

The war begins January 22, 2010.

lmao @ At a christen calling this movie unrealistic. Yea, because the idea of god is soooo realistic.

The bible is a work of fiction as well….

I’ve found God to be more real than anything / anyone I’ve ever met or experienced Jon. The majority of the bible is an accurate historical record, that has stood up to serious debate and investigation for centuries. It also contains poetry/songs (e.g. Psalms), and poetic stories about where we began (Genesis) and where we’re heading (Revelations), based on people’s conversations with God. Those parts aren’t intended to be scientifically / historically accurate, but they are true. Creative works often contain far more truth than scientific or historical works. That’s why we love them, and why they move us so much.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA so it’s not based on any facts (historical or scientific) but it’s true because it’s lasted?? GREAAATTTT thinking. Man I love religious people. Every time anyone comments on anything with the letters G, O and D strung together all of a sudden everyone is up in arms. WHO CARES what Jon thinks about religion or the bible or God James? and in fact who cares what you think? This site reviews the movie not the entire history of the christian faith or God for that matter. The movie just happens to be about God. Let’s not start yet another stupid religious debate that ends up with people vehemently defending their religious positions. Let it alone.

“who cares what you think” seems to me you cared enough to reply…and dont get it wrong….religious ppl are the worst thing in this planet, that and politicians…BUT believing in God does not make you a religious person…thats where it seems to me that u got it wrong calling James a religious person…I am sure you know what those religious ppl did in the past like the “holy” inquisition and many many other horrible things…those things were made by religious ppl…who trust their RELIGION among anything else without a question…but lets not forget that religioun is man-made…man laws never last…only Divine Laws…Jesus and his preachings, thats the stuff that matters! thats the real thing and I can assure you it does no have to do with religion at all.

This movie is based on facts recorded in the bible (e.g. people meeting the angel Gabriel, Jesus being born as a human); some visions of spiritual events in the bible which can’t be proved by humans as facts because no human was present (e.g. info about the angel Michael being put in charge); and some visions of the future recorded in the bible, which by nature can’t be factual because they haven’t happened yet.

Movies like this and The Da Vinci Code will excite people, because they’re based on the most exciting stuff in existence. But they won’t satisfy anyone like the truth.

Truth doesn’t have to be factual. The reason we love fictional movies like Star Wars and The Matrix for example is because of their truth.

How come we hated Pearl Harbour?

It’s just a movie people, there’s no need for these long ass replies

    • James

Yeah, but it’s based on – and distorts – the bible: the biggest selling book on the planet every year since printing was invented. And probably the most important book to a third of the world’s current population (Christians). Not exactly just a book.

    Worth the debate I think…
However the faith I have in Jesus is not shaken in the least by rubbish like this movie or Da Vinci code. I’m of the opinion that when movies like this which don’t look truthful at all will not shake very much at all actually. I believe people are intelligent enough to realise this contains some biblical references but that it doesn’t scratch the surface of the Christian faith.

    • JC

Good for you…bad for those who barely believe…”confuses” them…not everyone has that level of maturity. I personally am dying to see the look on people faces once the movie comes out

Saw the trailer last night at the theater. Takes the bestselling “Book” of all time, The Bible, and flushes in right down the toilet making God the “bad guy.” How completely insulting. Hope the producers and directors at least have the “guts” to tell us their true intentions for making this movie.
