The robot apocalypse begins early next year when Jose Padilha’s “RoboCop” reboot takes to the streets to ensure our safety and battle evil corporate shenanigans. Let’s face it, those corporate suits have it coming, what with their capitalism and evil suit wearing ways. Check out seven new images from the movie until then.

I’m not entirely sure why Robo’s armor seems to shift back and forth between black and silver. What’s the deal with that? Does that armor have super camouflage capabilities or something? Is the idea to make the bad guys think there are two of them running around? These pointless questions, and more, bought to you by boredom.

The year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Starring Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

Robo saves the day February 12, 2014.

The silver is the color for his first two iterations, and the black is the streamlined tactical look that he ends up with. The silver is also paying homage to the original.
