If David Fincher’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is the feel bad movie of the year, then Cameron Crowe’s family drama “We Bought a Zoo” would probably love to be your feel good movie of the year. The film is supposedly based on a true story about a family that bought a zoo. I’m guessing the real dad of that true story doesn’t quite have movie star good looks of Matt Damon, or that the love interest in his life didn’t look quite like Scarlett Johansson. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if they did, though? Anyways, check out 7 clips from the upcoming movie, due out later this month.
Based on a true story, Benjamin Mee is a recently-widowed father who moves his family to a beautiful estate miles outside the city. The only catch is that the estate is also a dilapidated zoo replete with 200 animals, and the purchase of the home is conditional on the new owner keeping the zoo and its entire staff. The Mee family subsequently sets out to rebuild and refurbish the zoo to its former glory, making new friends along the way.
Starring Matt Damon, Thomas Haden Church, Scarlett Johansson, Patrick Fugit, and Elle Fanning.
