7 Fictional Presidents We Wish We Could Really Vote For

6. Dave Kovic (“Dave”, played by Kevin Kline)

Dave Kovic got to become President because he looked like the President, but it turns out he was an even better President than the guy that got elected. That kind of Everyman quality is exactly what we need in the White House to deal with a crippling economy and world threats. Okay, maybe not so much, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a President who hadn’t spent his entire life running for office? Dave Kovic would let us believe the lie that anyone in America could one day become President. It’s a heartwarming thought (if totally bullshit).

Damn, I wrote “Top 7 Fictional Presidents” articles years ago for another site and we definitely see eye to eye on Kovic, Palmer, Marshall, and Whitmore (Lone Star!!!!).

You only ended up with 7, too? Haha.

In that case, the magazine had a series of “Top 7″ articles. I think top two were President Muffley from “Dr. Strangelove” and Unnamed President from “Fail/Safe” and somewhere down the chain was Bennett from “Clear and Present Danger”. Was meant to be memorable as opposed to guys we’d want to see in office

It took me a long time to come up with that list, too. I had to go to IMDB.com and scroll through a bunch of movies featuring Presidents. But I always knew Abe would end up at #1, though. I mean, vampire slayer. Who can beat that?
