8 Overlooked Films from 2012

Not every film hits the mark. Hell, some films don’t even get the chance to take aim at the mark, either going straight to DVD or getting buried on some distributor’s shelf, only to finally sneak their way onto the shelves of video stores around the country (they still have those, right?) years later. Or dumped onto VOD without fanfare, as is the fashion nowadays. Just to be clear: I’m not saying these movies are great or destined for cult classic status, but in my very humble opinion, they are very watchable, and definitely deserve a second look if you skipped them the first time around for whatever reason.

In no particular order…

I’d like to mention “Hobo with a shotgun”, starring Rutger Hauer. Maybe it was from 2011 .. well, wanted to mention it anyway :)

No. The Girl From The Naked Eye was just god awful from start to finish. I really tried to like it, as it was filmed in Providence, RI (where I’m from) but it was too filled with shitty acting, shittier characters, and a worse storyline. Plus, the best fight scene is ripped STRAIGHT from Oldboy.

Are you serious! The Man With The Iron Fists was a turd of humongous proportions, acting, sets, costumes, story, direction and even the music… 0% of anything to redeem it, I rate it as the worst film I have ever seen! Wow, way to burn Beyonds rep! LOL!

Wow way to insult China man!! They filmed in China. Many of those sets were Chinese sets.

Saw “The Day” as a free sneak preview- good but GRIM.

I just hope they cut out that chatty kitchen scene, that was painful to watch as the wrestlers tried to act, I was actually embarrassed for them…

Could not agree more with Universal Soldier and Dredd, and I’ll have to see Get the Gringo now too.

these are all trash. the only reason i watched baytown outlaws was for eva longoria… she could get it

I’d go as far as to say Dredd was the most under-appreciated film of 2012..it was a solid film in all respects. Get the Gringo was a ball…Mel Gibson back in ‘Payback’ mode.

The man with the iron fists are you fucking kidding me…the worst movie i have seen last year…..good god…

Get the Gringo was super enjoyable. Didn’t expect much but man was I hooked. I had to download subtitles though, the film is about 80% English, 20% Spanish.

DREDD was outstanding. Best movie of last yr for me. Better than the Avengers!
