“Hobo With A Shotgun” may be the 2011 film I’m most excited about. It’s one of those concepts that you hear about and immediately think, “man, that’s the best idea I’ve ever heard.” “Hobo” is set to premiere at Sundance, and Collider has some new pictures from the film. The more that comes out about “Hobo With A Shotgun”, the more it looks like the bastard child of “Street Trash”, which is just fine with me, since I wish more movies were descents of “Street Trash”.
A hobo (Rutger Hauer) hops from a train with dreams of a fresh life in a new city, but instead finds himself trapped in an urban hell. When he witnesses a brutal robbery, he realizes the only way to deliver justice is with a shotgun in his hands and two shells in the chamber.
In addition to seeing Hauer hit someone in the nuts, something that never gets old, there is a photo of writer/director Jason Eisener, who himself looks a little hobo-like. It is easy to imagine him wielding a shotgun, on a quest for vengeance.
Collider also has new pics from Norwegian director Andre Ovredahl’s mock documentary “Troll Hunters”, that trails a group of filmmakers following around a man who protects Norway from giant trolls. “Troll Hunters” will also premiere in Park City. In one image, the troll looks like an old man taking a poop, which I find funny because I have the sense of humor of a stoned teenager, and pooping is funny.
