A Couple of Nifty Fan Posters for The Avengers

Who doesn’t love fan posters? I do. Here are a couple more for Marvel Studios’ upcoming “The Avengers” that looks pretty nice. I like the symmetry in the first one, with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury at the top, but why exactly is both Tony Stark and Iron Man in the poster? They’re, uh, the same guy, right? Using Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow “check out my butt” awkward photoshop pose from the “Iron Man 2″ posters was also a nice touch.

Anyways, the fan posters DailyBlam. We should be getting the real posters when Joss Whedon’s “Avengers” start getting closer to its May 4, 2012 release date.

I’d like to see Baron Von Strucker, Grim Reaper and Madamme Hydra/Viper in either CATFA, Avengers or the sequel to CATFA.

Well the M.O.D.O.K. as AI would work, but I’d still want to have it have a human component. Even if the A.I. is just based on someone’s personality that passed away and the A.I. almost believes it is that person but now as a program.

Zola would BE the main villain. He’s a puppet master. If the man had no body but was a scientific genius he’d find a way to make it work. I agree the look is silly with the monitor in the chest, but that face is just a projection, the head piece is the camera/eye he see’s out of and there is a speaker and mic somewhere on the body. Just that simple really. Give it a doctors coat and it’d probably look kinda cool. Yeah a bit weird, but if done right could come off good.

That could work! Some real quick mentions and then MODOK!

Thats too many people in the first movie. It already has Red Skull, Zola, Hydra, Howling Commandos, and a version of the Invaders. A mention of Strucker would be great, as would of the Zemo Dynasty. I could see Grim Reaper, Madame Hydra, and Cross Bones for a sequel or two.

Exactly, the rest of these guys are perfect for sequels and even Avenegers EMH the animated series is laying out these characters in Cap’s future or our modern time.

    • Juggernaut

I agreen that they shouldn’t all have major roles in the first film. Maybe have them as cameos setting the stage for Avengers or a sequel. The Zemo thing would be cool. As for the Zola thing. I think that like you said there can be a robotic body version of him and the Hammer-oids heads look very close to the comic book look of Zola’s head. They may be ahead of us and we just don’t know it yet. Modern day Red Skull goes to Justin Hammer freshly out of jail and being financed by either HYDRA or A.I.M. He wants a body made to preserve his right hand man’s brain. It could tie in well!!!

    • Juggernaut

You could even have Red Skull put together a team to create the Zola body from Hammer’s tech. That way they could introduce HYDRA characters like Fixer and Mentallo as second tier characters.

  • Ulik

You’ve got to remember that there’s always a way to make theses characters more realistic. FACT IS SOMETIMES STRANGER THAN FICTION. If you ground some of these stories or characters in reality within REAL past, present or future history or technologies that are or have been going on, even if they are based on conspiracy theories(based on “a” truth) then they can work. Arnim Zola’s post human body existence would have to be BASED ON HIS BRAIN WAVE PATTERNS being saved and THAT concept leads to VISION in the future. M.O.D.O.K has to be still organic in nature meaning a real organic brain in that disproportionate body. This would make Arnim Zola and M.O.D.O.K different. No matter what, A.I will have limitations compared to a human brain that has been modified to perfection.

  • Ulik

What’s interesting though is the brain “size” doesn’t really denote intelligence. The first humans had bigger brains but were less intelligent. Then there are recorded geniuses of modern times who have smaller mass of brain matter than normal. The M.O.D.O.K thing would be more of a his brain becoming a super computer but as side effect, it grows too large to contain his body. I like this better as it makes for a pretty interesting and MORBID story.

Exactly. Just a mention of the Zemo dynasty is enough to set him up for later films with a flash back in the sequels. As for Zola, I love your ideas. I prefer the stolen Hammer tech, and having Fixer repurpose it for the Skull.

Also like Ulik’s idea of how the transformation makes his brain too large for his head to contain. And the saving brainwaves idea for Zola as well. Good stuff guys. we really need to get together (TSTI too ) and get something done. A prequel comic or something lol.

    • Juggernaut

I’m in let me know when and where. I really think that if hollywood writers would just stop and read some fan posts they could put together a decent script. As much as I’d love to the writer or even credited for the ideas, I’d be happy enough with a movie that incorporated some good ideas from guys like us.

  • Ulik

I’ve contacted Marvel Studios before. They said if you are writer, you need an agent and then they’ll check out your stuff. Anyway around that? I start school for a Bachelors degree in Digital Film & Video Production at The Art Institute of Atlanta on Monday, Jan 10th. I’m definitely interested in doing film/movies and if I can get a head start with you guys with all of our great ideas then I’m in for real!

    • Ulik

Or I guess we can just get an agent. I don’t know, but you guys got some good sh*t. I’m in.

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Nix

That’s studio/network S.O.P. It keeps them from getting sued by a writer who may end up claiming they stole his idea later on.

  • Ulik

BTW I wrote a synopsis for Iron Man 3. Maybe I can send it to you guys’ emails. Then you can look it over and try to help out, fix and flesh out whatever works or doesn’t work so that it can be a full fledged screenplay.

  • http://www.originalgeekspodcast.com/ Dedpool

LOL. Dude that the whole agent thing is so far out of my league right now. But Yeah i think you have mine Ulik send away. I’m all for a good read and collaboration.
@ Juggernaut I agree whole heartedly. i actually think some of them are to a point now. But not enough to actually change their ideas. But hey we could get the ball rolling. I got a friend where I live and we do this all the time. Fantasy cast, movie ideas, but we try to make sure their well though out and stuff. We keep saying “hollywood should hire us!”

    • Juggernaut

I have a handful of half ass written scripts that I’ve been working on. I have no formal writing background. Some creative writing classes in H.S. and a semester in litterature at Community College. LOL. I’m really just doing what is fun for me. I’d definately be in for a meeting of the minds though. @Ulik definately send me some stuff an I will too. If we end up with this thing going somewhere great, if not it’ll be a lot of fun I’m at edward.m.zarnawski@gmail.com Looking forward to hearing from all you guys and checking out some stuff.
