Seriously, wow, Alfred Hitchcock was one creepy dude. Of course, this is just one movie’s account of what really happened behind the scenes of “The Bird”, the horror flick that Hitchcock directed with actress Tippi Hedren, aka Sienna Miller, playing “the girl” of the title. Why did Hitchcock make Hedren do all the wacky things her character does in the movie? Because, apparently, that’s what Hitchcock wanted, and so it shall be. Check out the full trailer for “The Girl”, and you might never think of Hitchcock the same ever again.
Starring Toby Jones and Sienna Miller, THE GIRL tells the story of iconic director Alfred Hitchcock’s obsessive relationship with his leading lady, Tippi Hedren, during the making of “The Birds” and “Marnie.” Written by Gwyneth Hughes (HBO’s ‘Five Days,’ ‘Miss Austin Regrets’), THE GIRL is directed by Julian Jarrold (‘Becoming Jane’, ‘Red Riding Trilogy’).
“The Girl” premieres on HBO October 20th. But like most HBO movies, if you happen to miss it then, I wouldn’t worry, HBO will probably end up playing it another, oh, 2,000 times or so before the year is out.
