For my kung fu dollar, Donnie Yen is worth every penny. I’ve consumed “Ip Man” three times already, and I shudder to think how many poor souls have had to listen to me go on and on about “SPL” and “Legend of the Fist”. Not surprisingly, I’m pretty pumped about Peter Chan’s upcoming martial arts flick “Wu Xia” (aka “Swordsmen”), which stars Mr. Yen, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Tang Wei. Film Smash got their hands on a few pics and a poster from the film, all of which have been carefully aligned above and below this passage. The film is scheduled to hit Chinese theaters during the second half of 2011. Until we get a teaser, these images will have to suffice. I’m not complaining.
But first, a brief synopsis:
Peter Chan’s “Wu Xia” finds action superstar Donnie Yen portraying a killer who has repented of his deeds and is taking refuge in a remote village, while Takeshi Kaneshiro plays a detective who is trying to track him down.
As promised, the imagery you desire.
