A Hellraiser Movie Without Doug Bradley as Pinhead? Say it Ain’t so!

That’s according to STYD, who says the actor has “officially declined” to return as Pinhead in the ninth installment in the “Hellraiser” franchise, titled, “Revelations”.

The recently announced “Revelations” is expected to be another sequel in the ongoing franchise, and not the Dimensions Film reboot that has been in the works since I was a toddler. I still have absolutely no idea how that’s going to work, but apparently it will, because production on the sequel is said to be heading into production by next month with Victor Garcia directing.

In any case, how can you have a “Hellraiser” movie without Doug Bradley as Pinhead? The actor is pretty much completely covered up in makeup (not to mention the mountain of pins) for much the franchise, so he could be 90 years old and still look visually the same. Plus, it’s all about the skills under the make-up, not the make-up itself.

Besides, Pinhead has been a pretty cushy gig for Bradley over the years. He gets top billing and only has to show up for what probably amounts to a day or two of work in the last half dozen sequels. Who would honestly turn that down?

What’s next, a “Nightmare on Elm Street” movie without Robert Englund as Freddy?

Doug Bradley shows off his two mortgage payments and kids' college fund.

If it was a remake I’d say fine. But a sequel and after this many, you may as well just go get Doug Bradley. Seriously.

After eight films, maybe the man just wants to retire? Besides, he probably makes more money signing autographs at conventions than he does on each horrible sequel.

I’ve only see the first three Hellrasiers, but I find it sad that Doug won’t do it again. Still, it should work out…

I think the last sentence is funny, but only because of the Nightmare on Elm Street movie that came out very recently with someone else playing Freddy.
