Ethan Hawke is in trouble and then some in this new Red Band trailer for Scott Derrickson’s “Sinister”. Don’t let the Red Band designation fool you, though. Aside from one “F” word that shows up in a review blurb for the movie, there’s really nothing here to justify the Red Band tag. Mind you, the trailer itself is pretty great, with some outstanding visuals and a doomed atmosphere that pervades the entire trailer. This thing actually looks like it’s going to be scary, which is a lot more than I can say for about 90% of “horror” movies that come out of Hollywood these days. It’s also Rated R, so that’ll probably help some. Or lots, actually.
Found footage helps a true-crime novelist realize how and why a family was murdered in his new home, though his discoveries put his entire family in the path of a supernatural entity.
Also starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Clare Foley, James Ransone, Fred Dalton Thompson, Michael Hall D’Addario, and Juliet Rylance.
It gets bloody October 5, 2012.
