New Batch of Creepy Stills From Sinister

“Sinister”, starring Ethan Hawke, has been making some serious waves among horror fans in recent months. People have been calling the film smart, original, and a slew of other positive sounding adjectives. If you’ve watched the trailer, you know it looks spooky as hell.

A couple new pictures A new batch of stills from “Sinister” have surfaced. One shows Ethan Hawke having some fun with fire in his backyard while wearing a sweet old man sweater. The other is just straight up eerie, with Hawke standing in front of a movie projector. That’s creepy enough on its own, but the film being projected jus happens to be of a bunch of people hanging from a tree.

Here is the official synopsis:

SINISTER is a frightening new thriller from the producer of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films, and the director of THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE. Ethan Hawke plays a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror.

The movie stars Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Clare Foley, James Ransone, Fred Dalton Thompson, Michael Hall D’Addario, and Juliet Rylance. Scott Derrickson (“The Exorcism of Emily Rose”, “Hellraiser: Inferno”—which is way better than you think) directed the whole shebang.

“Sinister” opens on October 5th, though there are some advanced screenings in a few places.
