The shindig at E3 continues to give. This time it’s a pair of trailers for Konami’s “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain”, including a Red Band version that might leave you a tad queasy and a much safer for work version that’s mostly just gameplay footage.
The Red Band version opens up with about 2-3 minutes of very bad things happening to lots of people (familiar people, if you play the games), all of it rendered with snazzy CG animation. It then introduces you to what to expect from the upcoming fifth installment of the series. Lots of new and old, reworked stuff, from the looks of it, and open worlds, which is the must-have in today’s gaming landscape.
I’m not a big “Metal Gear Solid” gamer, but it looks interesting, especially the sneak combat stuff. Plus, Kiefer Sutherland is the voice of Snake, I hear.
“The Phantom Pain” comes to Playstation and XBox (both the current and upcoming new gen versions) sometime next year. Until then, check out the trailers, check them outers.
