A Plethora Of Pics From Richard Kelly’s The Box
Horror Movie News, Movie Images, Sci-Fi Movie News, The Box (2009) Movie — By Todd on September 22, 2009The marketing machine for Richard Kelly’s upcoming horror/sci-fi thriller “The Box” is in full swing, unleashing a cavalcade of tantalizing pics for your immediate consumption. As a fan of both “Donnie Darko” and “Southland Tales” — yes, I liked “Southland Tales” — I’m quite interested to see what the director has up his sleeve this time around. In case you were wondering, “The Box” is based on a short story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson and stars Cameron Diaz, James Marsden, and Frank Langella.
The synopsis is as follows:
Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger, delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. But, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world; someone they don’t know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the cross-hairs of a startling moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.
The film is scheduled to theaters on November 6th.
