Nicole Kidman’s “The Invasion”, a contemporary remake of the classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, has been in a load of trouble. I mean, damn, it’s been in a ton of trouble. (read more about that here) The film doesn’t open until August 17th, 2007, and from what I recall, there hasn’t even been a trailer for it anywhere. But here’s a fresh review of the movie, and it seems to be…positive? Could this even be possible?
When a mysterious alien infection spreads like an epidemic over the entire country, a woman fights to save her own life and the life of her son, who may hold the key to stopping the takeover.
The review landed at AICN. Click here to read it now. In a nutshell, this is what the reviewer thinks of the movie:
But, all in all, The Invasion has more than enough thrills to justify getting a sitter, grabbing your old lady, and plunking down your hard-earned cash when it gets released later this summer. Just don’t read any press about it until after you’ve seen the movie.
So there you go. Despite all the problems, all the rumors, all the controversies, and all the reshooting — “The Invasion” is actually pretty good!
At least, according to one guy. I’m still not convinced…
“The Invasion” stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Jeremy Northam, and Malin Akerman, and is directed (sort of) by Oliver Hirschbiegel.
