The last time I saw Anthony Wong fighting onscreen, he was battling Sammo Hung in the very silly “Naked Soldier” movie. Anyways, Hung isn’t around in Wong’s latest, “Ip Man: The Final Fight”, but Eric Tsang showed up to lend a hand — or a fist of fury or two. (Curiously, Hung appeared in “Ip Man 2″ starring Donnie Yen as the titular hero.)
Take a look at a new English-subtitled trailer and images for Herman Yau’s film. I’m sure the film itself is pretty action-packed, something you don’t actually get a sense of in this new, rather whimsical trailer. You can watch the first much more action-heavy trailer here.
In post-war Hong Kong, legendary Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man is reluctantly called into action once more, when what begin as simple challenges from rival kung fu styles soon draw him into the dark and dangerous underworld of the Triads. Now, to defend life and honor, he has no choice but to fight one last time.
“Ip Man’s” final fight begins in Hong Kong March 28, 2013. Stateside fans will have to wait for the import DVD later in the year.
