True story: I know someone who knows Tila Tequila before the Myspace fame kicked in. This person told me some stories that may or may not be true about the suddenly famous bi-sexual MTV star — seven degrees of Tequila, if you will. But I digress. Apparently the kids who watch MTV really enjoys their “shots” of Tila Tequila. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila” scored big in its Tuesday debut, roping in 1.8 million curious viewers and ranking No. 1 in its time period across all of cable in the network’s target demo of persons 18-34, averaging a 2.0 rating. That’s also up 36% compared with MTV’s “10 Spot” series premieres year-to-date.

So what’s the big hullabaloo? From Wikipedia:

A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila is an American reality television dating game show similair to the TV show The Bachelor that premiered on October 9, 2007 on MTV starring Tila Nguyen. The series is a bisexual-themed reality dating show where 16 straight males and 16 lesbian female contestants will live in Tila’s house and compete for her attention and affection. The contestants were not aware of Tila’s bisexuality until the end of the first episode, after ten contestants had been eliminated. The remaining contestants, both male and female, will then share the same bedroom for the rest of the series. The ten episode series is produced by 495 Productions and MTV.
