Hey, look, it’s the trailer for Warner Bros.’ “The Apparition”! Go figure, I was beginning to doubt if this movie actually existed. For a while there, it seemed as if the studio might never reveal the movie, and was simply waiting for the right time to dump it onto DVD and VOD. Mind you, not that I was waiting with bated breath for a PG-13 horror movie starring the girl from “Twilight”. You know, the one who isn’t Bella? Yeah, one of those other girls. Anyways, check out the first trailer (and a poster) for “The Apparition”, which appears to be heavily going for a Found Footage vibe. Funny thing is, I think it’ll do pretty good business. It certainly looks like the type of contrived horror flick that you kids seem to love so much nowadays.

When frightening events start to occur in their home, young couple Kelly (Ashley Greene) and Ben (Sebastian Stan) discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment. The horrifying apparition feeds on their fear and torments them no matter where they try to run. Their last hope is an expert in the supernatural (Tom Felton), but even with his help they may already be too late to save themselves from this terrifying force…

Starring Sebastian Stan, Ashley Greene, Tom Felton, Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino, Rick Gomez, Suzanne Ford, Anna Clark, and directed by Todd Lincoln.

Appearing August 24, 2012.
