A Whopping 13-Minute Behind-the-Scenes Featurette for Man of Steel

Eventually we’ll get tired of “Man of Steel”, probably after the movie comes out and we’ve seen it 2-3 times. Until then, what’s there to get tired of? Check out a new 13-minute behind-the-scenes featurette for the Zack Snyder film. It incorporates a couple of featurettes we’ve already seen before (the first 3 minutes, for instance, we already posted that) but then goes into other new stuff.

It’s worth a watch if you have 13 minutes to spare this fine Sunday. I mean, what else are you gonna do while you’re waiting for “Game of Thrones” to air tonight?

Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent, Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe.

Faster than a speeding bullet this June 14, 2013.

Looks great! I can’t wait for this. The tone and thematic direction seem so fresh and the style of the film is really unique. I’m really exited to see the finished product. The only thing that I can say may be a bit of a rip off would be the aparent showdown in Smallville. We’ve already had a god-like superhero in a red flowing cape facing off against an other worldly threat on main street of a small isolated town in Thor. I’m sure it will be cool and somewhat different but the overall scenario is a bit of a rehash. However, I’m still very exited for this.

After watching the featurette again I also wanted to comment on how cool the new ideas for the suit and relationship between the Kryptonian parents and Earth parents were done here. It’s great that they seem to have finally tried to explain the suits origins in an imntelligent way. The fact that they played so heavily upon the Arthurian knight style symbol of houses and family symbols as a way to explain the S.
    A few SPOILER-ish points…
I’m hoping that the armor that Zod seems to be sporting ends up being used by Lex Luthor as his battle suit in a future installment of the series. I’m also hoping that the design of Zod’s ship isn’t just a cooincidence. I’d really love some reference to Braniac as an after credits stinger.

“I’m hoping that the armor that Zod seems to be sporting ends up being used by Lex Luthor as his battle suit”

Hadn’t thought about that, but that’d be freaking genius. The Kryptonian suits already look like variations on the classic Luthor powersuits

Yep! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
