Blumhouse Productions, the folks behind James Wan’s “Insidious” and other low-budget/old school horror movies, has its new planned franchise — one about exorcism that will star Aaron Eckhart called “Incarnate”.
“Incarnate” would find the former “Dark Knight” star playing “an unconventional exorcist who can tap into the subconscious of the possessed who meets his match when a 9-year-old boy is possessed by a demon from his past.”
Eckhart’s certainly got the grizzled face to play an “unconventional exorcist”. And after coming off leading man roles in “Erased” and the oft-delayed “I, Frankenstein”, Eckhart could certainly use a sure-fire hit. These days, you don’t get more sure-fire than the Blumhouse boys, with their miniscule budgets and big-time returns on investments.
Brad Peyton, who directed last year’s “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”, will helm the film, which is expected to shoot this November in Los Angeles.
Eckhart’s “I, Frankenstein”, meanwhile, is currently set for January 24, 2014. He most recently co-starred as the President in Antoine Fuqua’s “Olympus has Fallen” with Gerard Butler.
