I don’t know what’s more shocking: the fact that it’s taken Sandler and Samberg this long to work together, or the fact that their collaboration “That’s My Boy” looks absolutely pathetic. You’re right — it’s definitely the former. Sandler has been consistently farting out duds for the past few years, so I don’t think anyone expected his latest endeavor to be anything special. And, truthfully, the latest trailer doesn’t suggest that Sandler is interested in correcting his current cinematic trajectory. Then again, maybe “That’s My Boy” is the sort of old-school Sandler comedy that we need right now. Or, perhaps, it’s an entirely calculated effort designed to get the comedian back in our good graces. It’s kind of hard to tell.

At any rate, here’s what the flick is about:

While still in his teens, Donny (Adam Sandler) fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Todd’s 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd’s world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when an uninvited Donny suddenly shows up. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, Donny is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills.

“That’s my Boy”, which also features performances from the likes of Leighton Meester, James Caan, Eva Amurri, Susan Sarandon, Milo Ventimiglia, Will Forte, Colin Quinn, Todd Bridges, Vanilla Ice, and Ian Ziering, is set to score some laughs in the US on June 15th, 2012. You can find the latest trailer for the movie below.

Man! I normally don’t like Adam Sandler, but when he’s “acting” like a moron, I actually want to hurt him.
