Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was Lost, But Now he’s Found the Thing Prequel

Fans of “Lost” were disappointed Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Mr. Eko didn’t show up in the “Lost” finale last week, but they’ll be happy to know that he still has the nose for monsters. STYD says the “Lost” actor, who also played Heavy Duty in the recent “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” movie, has joined the cast of Universal’s prequel to “The Thing”, which is already shooting up there in them frosty plains called Canada. He joins a cast that already includes young leads Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton, with Matthijs van Heijningen directing. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play a character name Derek Jameson.

“The Thing” prequel is just that — a prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 movie starring Kurt Russell, about an alien creature from outer space that terrorizes the men of a remote Alaskan outpost. The prequel would back-track the creature’s arrival on our little ball of blue wax, and how he got loose.

The fit hits the shan in 2011.

'So, what are the chances I don't get eaten in this movie, too? Sigh.'
