Adrien Brody as Ant-Man?

Yeah, still can’t believe Marvel is pursuing an “Ant-Man” movie despite having a treasure trove of infinitely cooler characters at their disposal. But they are, so someone has to play him. So why not Adrien Brody? The guy has already proved everyone wrong when he bulked up for “Predators”, so it should be a cinch for him to come down just a tad (literally, as it were) for little ol Ant-Man.

John Campea of AMC tweeted this today that got the “Brody as Ant-Man” ball rolling:

Take this for what its worth, but I was just told Adrien Brody is most likely going to be “Ant Man” for Edgar Wright.

Latino Review’s el mayimbe then chimed in with this:

I personally checked w/my pals at Paradigm (Adrien Brody’s agency) & at press time, YES they were pursing Ant Man but got nothing yet.

So there you have it. Adrien Brody, at least according to two sources, is actively trying to nab the Ant-Man role.

The guy’s a great actor, and he’s already shown he can go genre if he puts his mind to it, so why the (seeming) hesitation on Marvel’s part? Well, knowing Marvel, they’re just trying to get the prices right, which in this case means paying Brody as little as possible for as much work as possible. But since Brody isn’t quite the $20 million dollar actor yet, I’m sure a reasonable deal can be agreed upon if they both want it badly enough.

I think he'd be agreat addition to the Avengers cast. Still not certian a full film about the character would work, but I understand the character's appeal to a point. Just not as headliner material. There was an Ant-Man comic, but that was Eric O'Grady, and his stories were of a much different nature. If they go that route with the espionage and such it could work.

Yeah, maybe he could be O'Grady or Scott Lang BUT he absolutley looks nothing like Hank Pym,even if his hair was dyed blond. Now I'd love to see Brody finally as a villain, maybe an excellent villian for Ant-Man to deal with.

BTW Wonder-Man looks like actor John Hamm.

Okay… aidrien brody doesnt look like hank pym… but he could play hank pym spot on.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Adrien Brody. He’s one of my favorite actors. I just can’t picture him as ant man. I do have confidence he’ll rock this role though, I’m not fretting over the matter.

I knew that the test footage from comic con was going to get the rumor mill churning on this subject once again! Brody was actually on my short list to play Namor. However, He is a good actor with credentials to boot (best actor for The Pianist) but I’m not sure he’s the best fit for the role. Marvel could get him on the cheap though considering he hasn’t had a financially or critically acclaimed project in quite a while.
