Aisha Tyler Joins Black Water Transit

Black Water Transit (2007) Movie — By Nix on July 10, 2007

Former Talk Soup host Aisha Tyler has joined the brand spanking new cast of the thriller “Black Water Transit”, reports Variety. The film has already gone through a number of cast changes, including the replacement of Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson with Laurence Fishburne and Karl Urban (details here), but it looks like Tyler’s casting is not a retread. Known mostly as a comedian who has appeared in shows like “Friends” and the supernatural drama “Ghost Whisperer”, Aisha Tyler will play a police Detective in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Pic, set in post-Katrina New Orleans, centers on a man trying to free his junkie son from prison. Tyler plays a police detective. Laurence Fishburne and Karl Urban star in the film, helmed by Tony Kaye.

The movie is currently under the helm of Tony Kaye (”American History X”). I say “currently” because there’s no guarantee he’ll still be there a month from now.

I actually saw this movie being filmed about three blocks from my house. At the very least, they picked great locations here in New Orleans. I just can’t work out how a book so vividly set in New York is now visualized as a post-Katrina movie.

    Hmmm.

Am I the only one who noticed there wasn’t even

    Keep a goin’ America.
