Al Gore to Return with An Inconvenient Truth Sequel
An Inconvenient Truth 2 Movie — By Nix on May 24, 2007 |
So how exactly does one make a sequel to a documentary about Global Warming? And if they somehow managed to get it done, would it then go by the too-cool-for-school title of, “An Incovenient Truth 2: Global Warmer”? Because, you know, the first one was about Global Warming, and the sequel to hit movies always has to be tougher sounding than the first. Um. Anyways, IESB.net reports that Paramount is currently talking with “Truth” director Davis Guggenheim to do a sequel. Says Guggenheim: “I’m meeting with Paramount next week to talk about a sequel to Inconvenient Truth. Too early to talk about details…” Translation: I want more money. Lots and lots more money. Hey, he may be a documentarian and he may want to save the world, but there are mortgages to be paid, ya know.
An Inconvenient Truth offered a passionate and inspirational look at one man’s commitment to expose the myths and misconceptions that surround global warming and inspire actions to prevent it. That man is former Vice President Al Gore, who, in the wake of defeat in the 2000 election, re-set the course of his life to focus on an all-out effort to help save the planet from irrevocable change.
Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” may have made a buttload of money, but the problem of Global Warming is still there, and the truth must be heard! (Because, you know, I’m sure Paramount isn’t doing this for the money, they’re just concern about Global Warming like all of Hollywood. Right?)
My question is, are they going to be able to thaw Al Gore out in time for the sequel? Because, you know, robots take at least 3 days just to cool down before it can commence normal functions again…
