Best pals Barry Levinson and Al Pacino have worked on a couple of projects together and will soon work together on “Gotti: Three Generations”. From the looks of it though, it seems we’ll have to wait to get our next mob fix on the big screen as the two of them will reunite for “The Humbling” before working on “Gotti”.
Deadline says that the two of them will be adapting Philip Roth’s novel “The Humbling”, which they’ll film this fall. “The Humbling” revolves around Simon Axler (Pacino), a famous stage actor in decline who is revived when he retires to his upstate New York farmhouse and takes up with a much younger woman. Levinson is said to be working quickly to cast the female lead and other characters.
Adapted by Levinson with Buck Henry and Michael Zebede, Levinson committed to making the movie after finishing up his thriller “The Bay”, which will be released by Lionsgate later this year.
