American Remake of One Missed Call Trailer

Written by Nix | August 31st, 2007 | 0 Comments |

The American remake of the Japanese horror “One Missed Call” has arrived with a trailer at Yahoo! Movies. I haven’t seen the trailer, because I’m not very interested in a remake of an original that wasn’t very original to begin with. Basically, this is a remake of an original that is a rehash of 50 other movies with the exact same premise and narrative. Except this one is, um, in English, and it stars Edward Burns and Shannyn Sossamon. Other than that? Go watch the original and save yourself the trouble. Or better yet, just watch the original “Ring” movies over. (Or go with the remake. Same difference.)

The plot, such as it is:

In this remake of the Japanese horror film “Chakushin Ari” (2003), several people start receiving voice-mails from their future selves — messages which include the date, time, and some of the details of their deaths.

That’s gotta suck.

Don’t answer the phone January 14th, 2008.
