Amy Adams in Talks to Join The Fighter
The Fighter (2010) Movie — By Nix on June 30, 2009
Amy Adams was in “Enchanted”, “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day”, and “Sunshine Cleaning” — three movies that I have never seen, and probably never will. Her most high profile role to date is probably as Amelia Earheart in the painfully unfunny, uninspired, and stale “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”. To give the girl credit, I kinda thought she was the best thing about that grossly bloated (and did I mention terribly unfunny?) Ben Stiller CGI-fest. Anyways, Variety reports that Amy Adams is currently in negotiations to join Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg on their boxing movie “The Fighter”.
Adams would play a gritty bartender from Massachusetts who ends up dating Wahlberg’s character, “Irish” Mickey Ward. The film would chronicle the rise of Ward from his early days on the rough streets of Lowell, Massachusetts to his eventual reign as the world lightweight champion. Bale would play Wahlberg’s half-brother, who helps him on his way to the top.
David O. Russell (”Three Kings”) is directing the boxing pic for Paramount. Melissa Leo of Homicide: Life on the Streets fame is also in the cast.
Below: Amy Adams, hoping that Christian Bale is in a better mood on this movie.
