It’s been a while since we posted a promo trailer for Kaare Andrews’ “tentacle monster in the sky” movie “Altitude”, and the film has only now gotten distribution courtesy of Anchor Bay Films. It looks like one heck of a movie, though I’m curious how exactly they’re going to maintain the pace and thrills for 90 minutes while never leaving the small plane setting.

Via Bloody-Disgusting:

Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired supernatural thriller Altitude for distribution in the US, the UK and Australia/New Zealand on the Anchor Bay Films label.

Directed by award-winning graphic novelist Kaare Andrews and written by Paul A Birkett (The Keeper), Altitude follows a group of teens on a weekend plane trip that turns into a battle with a supernatural force.

Jessica Lowndes (90210), Julianna Guill (Friday the 13th), Ryan Donowho (Bandslam), Landon Liboiron (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Jake Weary (As the World Turns) star.

With Anchor Bay now onboard, you can probably expect the film on DVD later this year. But in case you missed it the first time around, here’s the “Altitude” promo trailer:

I just realized this was written by Kaare Andrews. It's a name that will be popping up here real soon. He wrote and drew a little comic called “Spiderman:Reign,” among other accomplishments. The trailer looks pretty interesting. Not often you get tentacle monsters in the sky. In the Sea yeah but not the sky.

this reminds me of a story I read as a kid-but cant remember it for the life of me. It was about a guy whos friend is a pilot and discovered this is a world of unseen, unknown horrors in the sky-invisabile monsters, islands floating in the clouds, etc-but behind the ability of man to see or detect. Occasionally, they interacted with us-balloonists who disappeared, small planes etc-the beings in it enjoyed eating meat occassionally-wish I could recall the name of that story though. -Dream
