Anchor Bay Unleashes Michael Biehn’s The Victim This September

Michael Biehn is a freaking badass, and his critically-acclaimed thriller “The Victim” has been on my radar for quite some time now. Unfortunately, the film’s numerous festival screenings have been out of my grasp, which is what happens when you live a good distance away from any of the major markets. As such, I’ve been hoping that someone would see the film’s potential and give it a proper release on home video. That way I can see it. You know, finally.

If you need a synopsis, I happen to have one:

Good time girls Annie (Jennifer Blanc) and Mary (Danielle Harris) find themselves in a life and death situation. Annie’s life is put in jeopardy when she is witness to a violent act at the hands of two Sheriff’s Deputies (Ryan Honey, Denny Kirkwood). With her pursuers closing in, she stumbles across Kyle (Michael Biehn), a recluse living in the middle of the woods. A rugged loner, Kyle finds the stillness of the woods comforting. He keeps civilization at arm’s length; that is – until a single knock on his door throws his solitary life into chaos. Two worlds collide in this nerve-fraying thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the very last frame.

This supposed “nerve-fraying” suspense flick, which was also written and directed by Biehn, will find its way onto Blu-ray and DVD on August 22nd. If you happen to live near New York City or Los Angeles, you can catch theatrical screenings starting August 24th and September 7th, respectively. If you’ve missed out on the trailer, have a peek at the video embedded below.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
