And the Villains for Nolan’s Batman 3 Are … Joker, Catwoman, AND Two-Face?

If this rumor of Catwoman, Joker, AND Two-Face being the villains in the third “Batman Begins” movie is true, then it appears Hollywood is slow to learn. No, let me rephrase that: Hollywood is so thick that they can’t look back a few years to see what they did wrong, because they’re going to repeat it all over again with the third installment. Of course, this is keeping in mind the “if this is true” part, because word from Cinema Blend is that a reliable scooper has told them that Nolan is seriously considering not one, not two, but three villains for the third installment in his Batman reboot. The optimist in me would like to believe that Christopher Nolan is no Hollywood hack, so he wouldn’t go such a silly route, but the pessimist in me says: “Yeah, right, didn’t you think that way about Sam Raimi, too, and how did THAT turn out with ‘Spider-Man 3′?”

More:

One of our most reliable, long time scoopers just sent us the following tidbit: “Word is that Heath Ledger could be coming back in the next sequel which will have Two Face as the main villain.”

Even more exciting than the idea that we may get the Joker in more than one movie is the identity of another villain who may be in Batman 3. According to our source, “it could also include a certain female feline as well.”

I think everyone knew and expected that Two-Face would be the villain for part three, with his character being set up as a Batman loyalist/ally in “The Dark Knight”, but keeping the Joker around, and then ADDING Catwoman to Part 3 is just repeating the same mistakes all directors do with their superhero franchises.

Of course, this is all rumor, so all this huffing and puffing may be an exercise in pointlessness…

Honestly Jim Carey did an amazing job as the Riddler, but if I must say I think Johnny Depp would do a really good job as well.

I honestly could see The Riddler and Catwoman in the next sequel.

    1. In the one part where Bruce receives his new armor, he asks Fox if it protects from dogs. He says yes and points out “And cats” I thought that was a hidden secret.

    2. Also the character who blackmails Batman’s identity is portrayed on the TV screen as “Mr. E”. Mr.E. Mystery.

But these are my guesses, who knows.

I thought the comment about cats and the armor was a hidden message as well. in Batman Begins it let us know that the Joker would be the next villain, so why not this one too? On my way to see the movie I made the comment to my firend “If they kill off Rachel Dawes I bet Catwoman is in the next movie.” Then they made the comment. But as of yet, there has been at least two villains per movie…i bet it’s either Catwoman/The Riddler/Scarecrow or Catwman/Poison Ivy/Scarecrow. I have a feeling that they’re keeping Scarecrow around for a reason

you sir are wrong, quite wrong. In case you haven’t noticed they already pulled off… quite masterfully… 3 villains (Scarecrow, Joker, Two-Face), and so i might enlighten you. The reason for the failure that was Batman Forever. Along with the resounding undercurrent of the EPIC failure which was Batman and Robin. The biggest change in between 1+2/3+4 was the DIRECTOR. That being a flamboyant gay man by the name of Joel Schumacher. I mean really… he put NIPPLES on the bat suit. That should about sum things up for you. That retarded thought on the villains of the next batman movie aside. My picks for the next would be Two-Face(obviously), Bane (though i doubt we’ll be seeing him as he’s a rather flavorless character), Riddler, and although i like the idea of Catwoman i never was all too particularly inclined towards her. Maybe a new interpretation of her concept could bring me around.

    • Aghgirl2

Well Jack Black is more of a comedic character, and his voice is to sqeaky LOL. Scarlett Johanson is a horrible actress. Giovanni Ribisi wouold be an amazing Deadshot guy(: I’m sick and tired of Vin Diesel. (and Mr. Freeze) Johnny Depp as the riddler is sooo cool!!! And I had more of Nikki Reed as poison Ivy, but megan would be gud too :)

I agree with the Riddler part.

I know Jack Nicholson played the original Joker but I think Jack is strange enough

If you have seen The Dark Knight, uh, the question is HOW is Two Face coming back in the sequel? And this insider says Heath Ledger is coming back? Um, do they know something about resurrection I don’t? I think that’s “old” news.

    • Beta.exe

yeah that insider was old news. It was from last September.

You can not kill off joker that is stupid just because Heath did a good job does not mean his the only one that can pull off the Joker

      • http://www.originalgeekspodcast.com/ Dedpool aka Jiinx

I agree. As much as I loved Heath’s interpretation, given a couple of years someone new could step into the role, but they really have to do a good job of making it their own and NOT imitating Heath. To use certain nuances, and mannerisms is one thing, but to intentionally try and mimic another’s performance is folly.(Brandon Routh as Clark/Superman was channeling Christopher Reeve’s performance) Look at Michale Gambon taking over for Richard Hariis as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films. Their two interpretations couldn’t be more different yet Gambon has exceeded any expectations I had. Similarly the actresses that played the Oracle in Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. DIfferent but the sould fo the character was there. It can be done just have to find the right person.
