Angel Fight! Battle Clip from Legion

Kevin Durand in Legion (2010) Movie Image

Heavenly angel mace and metal wings versus machineguns? Who ya got? Well if you’re cheering for God’s warriors to wipe out humanity, you’d probably have to go with the dude with the wings. But if you’re like me and thinks Paul Bettany is pretty badass and would like to see him kick some angel tail, then you’re going with the machinegun guy. Check out a new clip from Scott Stewart’s upcoming action-horror movie “Legion”, featuring Paul Bettany’s fallen angel battling one of God’s loyal soldiers. It’s mace-tastic! Via Yahoo!

Starring Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Lucas Black, Adrianne Palicki, Tyrese Gibson, Doug Jones, Willa Holland, and Kate Walsh. Directed by Scott Stewart.

Pick a side January 22, 2010.

No mention of Kevin Durand. The angel he’s fighting in the clip. The ArchAngel known for defeating Lucifer during the fall known as Michael? Sheesh. Sorry i like Durand, and think he’s underrated. Loved him in “3:10 to Yuma” and “Smokin’ Aces,” even liked him in “X-Men Origins:Wolverine” as Blob.

Also like the metal or bulletproof blade like wings. Don’t think they’re metal just deflect bullets as if they are. I really like how they’ve made the wings weapons, both defensive and offensive.

I didn’t even know that was him. LOL.

OK in the bible Michael and Gabriel are the same angel. Why are they two different angels? And why do angels need guns and weapons? They have powers, some more powerful then others. Hmmmmm……I wonder why they went that route of guns and weapons. Anyone know?

    • ulik

Michael and Gabriel ARE NOT the same Angel. (Keep in mind this is also a movie so they want to modernize to see what it would be like for angels dealing with modern technology and etc). Shooting blasts and doing a whole bunch of outstanding miracles or magic would be just too much. The Angel Michael is the Avenging Angel otherwise known as “Mikhaelzedek” who “God” sends into battle to finish the job. His name comes from the Aramaic language(ancient hebrew) MIKHA’El which means “Who is like unto EL”. Many religious scholars like to add an “?” at the end of “Who is like unto EL(God)”(?) but there is no indication of a (?) there in the Araimic, so scholars ASSUME his name implies a rhetorical question not a statement. His symbol is The Sun or Sun Rays and sometimes The Sword. The angel Gabriel is The Messenger Archangel also known as as “EL Nafish Koresh”(The Holy Spirit),his symbol is The Dove he is usually sent with messages of good tidings or impending danger. Unknown to many, it is said amongst The Ancient Spiritual Group of the Magi or “Essenes”, all of the angels have written scrolls and one scrolls made it into the Bible which is The Book Of Malachi. Scholars have no idea who wrote this ancient scroll. According to the Essenes, it was written by The Angel Michael also known as Melchizedek, and Malachi.(Who by the way is NOT Jesus).

The Angel Gabriel’s name means “Strength of El”(God) or “El is my strength”.

    Ummm, ok read this………
My bad i dont know what i was thinking, I know Jesus has many names Michael and Archangel are just a couple.

    ARCHANGEL
The prefix “arch,” meaning “chief” or “principal,” implies that there is only one archangel, the chief angel; in the Scriptures, “archangel” is never found in the plural. First Thessalonians 4:16, in speaking of the preeminence of the archangel and the authority of his office, does so in reference to the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first.” It is, therefore, not without significance that the only name directly associated with the word “archangel” is Michael.—Jude 9; see MICHAEL No. 1.

    GABRIEL
    (Ga′bri‧el) [Able-Bodied One of God].
The only holy angel other than Michael named in the Bible; the only materialized angel to give his name. Twice Gabriel appeared to Daniel: first, near the Ulai River “in the third year of the kingship of Belshazzar” to explain Daniel’s vision of the he-goat and the ram (Da 8:1, 15-26); and second, “in the first year of Darius” the Mede, to deliver the prophecy concerning the “seventy weeks.” (Da 9:1, 20-27) To Zechariah the priest, Gabriel brought the good news that he and his aging wife Elizabeth would have a son, John (the Baptizer). (Lu 1:11-20) To Mary, the virgin girl betrothed to Joseph, Gabriel declared: “Good day, highly favored one, Jehovah is with you.” He then told her that she would give birth to a son, Jesus—he “will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father, . . . and there will be no end of his kingdom.”—Lu 1:26-38.
From the Bible record it is learned that Gabriel is a high-ranking angelic creature in close association with the heavenly court, one “who stands near before God”; that he was one “sent forth” by God to deliver special messages to servants of Jehovah here on earth (Lu 1:19, 26); that his personal envisioned or materialized form was, true to the meaning of his name, “like an able-bodied man.”—Da 8:15.

I don’t mean to get in a bible discussion but I had to clareafy some stuff. But I know its just a movie but, come on Michael having to fight other angels and not beating them easily, and weapons its not true I don’t care if they are trying to make it realistic. Its just to far from the truth. But……I get it.

Will all do respect LSB, within ranks of armies there are many chiefs. The are certain very relevant Angels that are considered “Arch” because they are the ones who deal directly with “El”(God) then to man and certain VERY important situations. There are legions(not the demon) of angels but they are ranked and some that do not directly deal with man unless otherwise appointed like as in “guardian angel” etc. I agree with you on the bases of Michael, yes he is the main angel but is the “Arch” angel of justice not particularly guidance, renewal, spiritual evolution, etc. others angels are appointed specific jobs in which they are the “Arch”(as you say Chief) of that particular assignment while other angels follow “their” lead. Its ok for a person to want to worship Jesus if that’s what makes them a better person but its not ok when people twist the truth in order to make people worship Jesus instead of the father like saying that Jesus is himself, the father, the angel Gabriel, and the angel Michael. LSB I see you’ve thrown in some bible quotes that just confirmed what I said about Gabriel and Michael. They are not the same and have different jobs to do. Like YOU said Gabriel is a high-ranking(a cheif) angel sent forth to bring messages. Melchizedek is a being in the Bible that says he is without beginning or end, without mother nor father. Scholars and preachers become afraid of that statement and don’t know who Melchizedek really is so they try and say that it was Jesus. Which is wrong. Yes Jesus had many “titles” not names, he is said to have come down once 2000 years ago and will return in the end times not come down six, seven, or ten times as someone else with a different name. Jesus or “Y’shua” is not and never was the angel Michael nor was he or is he the angel Gabriel. These are three different beings with different assignments. And Gabriel “Able Bodied of God” is just a varied translation of “Strength of God”.

I’ve always been a sucker for (what I like to call) “Christian fantasies” in the vein of “The Prophecy,” “Dogma” and the “Omen” movies, but never expected to see wire-fu and gunplay in the mix. Should be interesting.
