Oh dear. The trailer for the Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy action movie “Wanted”, (barely) based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones, has arrived online, and it looks like a steaming piece of crap. Seriously, folks, what is this thing? A “Fraternity of assassins”? Oh…my…God. This thing is going to suck harder than Angelina Jolie on her wedding night with Brad Pitt. Seriously, my God. They’ve turned an ultra cool comic book with some of the most brilliantly insane and off-the-wall ideas into a formulaic action movie about a league-type of assassins and what will no doubt be a bunch of generic shoot’em-up sequences. Hell, they didn’t even use the “shoot the wings off the flies” sequence from the comics! And that was one of those scenes that would have MADE this movie!

If you’ve never read the comics, I guess this MIGHT seem okay, but even then you’re probably thinking, “Wow, that’s kind of generic. That’s it? Angelina Jolie playing Bad Girl With a Gun? That’s the Big Sell?”

Where are the parallel worlds? Where are the superheroes who can’t remember that they were once superheroes, so they don’t fully appreciate it when their nemesis comes back to slaughter them?

I should have known this movie would be FUBAR when they willy nilly changed The Professor to Sloan and Mister Rictus to Mister X for no unGodly reason.
