Angelina Jolie is U.N. Spy Kathi Lynn Austin
Untitled Kathi Lynn Austin Movie — By Nix on December 4, 2007 |
It’s the Bourne Identity, only with Angelina Jolie, and Bourne is a hot chick who can kick ass. That’s what the filmmakers behind an upcoming spy thriller to be based on the life and times of one Kathi Lynn Austin, a former U.N. intelligence operative, wants to sell, and nabbing Angelina Jolie as their star won’t hurt.
Variety says the untitled Kathi Lynn Austin movie will be fictional, but “based upon true events” (as they like to say) about Victor Bout, the shadowy Russian who is considered one of the world’s most prolific dealers in illegal munitions. Besides the fact that Jolie is perfect for the role (she was, after all, Lara Croft in another life), the whole U.N. angle was probably the thing that sold her on the idea. I think Jolie would rent out a room and live in the U.N. building if she could.
There is no script as yet, so that means nothing will be happening until the strike ends. Media Talent Group’s Geyer Kosinski will produce.
