Angelina Jolie apparently has a thing for war movies. After making her directorial debut with the very ambitious Bosnian War movie “In the Land of Blood and Honey” in 2011, she’s following that up with another potentially epic war movie in the WWII true story “Unbroken”, about the life and times of Louis Zamperini.
That’s Jolie and the real-life Zamperini above.
“Unbroken”, for those unawares, is the true story of Louis Zamperini, “an Olympic runner who, while enlisted during World War II, survived a plane crash into the ocean. And that’s just the beginning of the trials Zamperini faced: he spent 47 days adrift on a raft in the Pacific only to then be imprisoned in a brutal Japanese POW camp for over two years.”
The film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Garrett Hedlund, Alex Russell, Jai Courtney, Finn Wittrock, Jack O’Connell, and John Magaro.
