Anna Faris Refuses to Deep Throat … for Now

Or at least, that’s what some guy who writes for the site MovieHole says. Which is a bit of a surprise, since wasn’t it just three months ago that Faris was talking about how they’re trying to get the funding for the Linda Lovelace biopic “Inferno” into place so she could stretch her acting muscles in the leading role of the deep throating heroine of the seminal porn movie “Deep Throat”? Well if you thought that, then yes, you’re correct, but it seems that Anna has since changed her mind, and would rather spend her career (at this point in time, anyway) on more bubbly fare like, say, the recent “The House Bunny”, where she played a former Playboy bunny turned sorority girl who helps the other sorority girls get laid and stuff.

Moviehole’s Guy Davis caught up with the gorgeous Anna Faris today – to talk about the amusing “House Bunny” – and discovered she’s pulled out of producer Brian Grazer’s recently announced Linda Lovelace biopic.

Faris says she’s going to “stick to comedies” – like her latest venture, “The House Bunny” – for the meantime, noting that the Lovelace role would be a bit too heavy at this stage in her career.

The Lovelace-biopic, titled “Inferno”, will be directed by Matthew Wilder – who’ll now be on the lookout for a new lead.

Color me disappointed, although you sort of understand her reasoning. She has a thriving comedy career, so why torpedo that with a biopic on the woman who helped usher “deep throat” into the American lexicon? That’s the kind of movie role you take when your career is tanking, or you’re desperate to be “taken seriously” ala Anne Hathaway’s “Havoc”.
