Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette (aka Ghostface survivors Sydney Prescott, Gale Riley and Dewey Riley, respectively) won’t be the only familiar faces in Wes Craven’s “Scream 4”. You can expect some cameo appearances from “True Blood’s” Anna Paquin and current romcom princess Kristen Bell in there as well.
At least that’s according to this USAToday article (thanks goes to Brad for the heads up), which says to “expect the usual celeb cameos” in “Scream 4”. As I recall, celebrity cameos were common in the franchise, thanks to the original trilogy’s tie-in with a faux Hollywood movie series called “Stab” that fictionalized the trilogy’s killings onscreen, er, onscreen. It’s all very post-modern hip and Kevin Williamson-ish.
The fourth part, which will introduce a slew of new Ghostface victims led by Emma Roberts (and including Bell’s “Heroes” co-star Hayden Panettierre) opens April 15, 2011. Craven is directing from a script by Kevin Williamson, the franchise creator/writer, though there are rumblings of “creative” issues around the set that may or may not be true.
What we do know for a fact, though? Anna Paquin (top) and Kristen Bell (below) are dang easy on the eyes.
