Another Avengers Fan Made Poster

Reader Tony Trinh has sent over a fanmade poster for Joss Whedon’s upcoming “The Avengers” that he cooked up. He’s incorporated the first official look at Chris Hemsworth as Thor into the group portrait, though I’m not too sure about War Machine and Black Widow being there. Mind you, not that I’m complaining about another poster where Scarlett Johansson is doing her skin-tight black outfit thing, and considering the buzz surrounding her Black Widow, I’m sure Marvel would love to write her into “The Avengers” if they haven’t already.

The “Avengers” show up in 2012, the same year as Warner Bros.’ third “Batman” film from Christopher Nolan. Yes, comic book fans, you really are that lucky.

Still missing Giant-Man and Wasp, do it over.

    Goddamn I hate fan-made garbage!

Cool concept but terrible cuts most notably Johansson, poor use of space and scale.

Thanks for the input and critiques from the peanut gallery. I challenge you arrogant gentlemen to do better. Yeah, I got a little lazy w/ black widow and just used the magic tool instead of the lasso on that. As for the scale, you're looking at each character from a different perspective not as one group. I was kind of handcuffed w/ the sourced images I was using w/ how they were already cropped and how they fit together compositionally on the page. But you guys already know this because you're experts on movie poster making. I'm proud of my couple hrs of work in the middle of the night.

I'd say it was an improvement from, say, this:

You know what they say: Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves.

Are there always these a-hole commentors on your site. It's unfortunate that you do something for fun and get slammed for it by a bunch of jealous, anonymous, glib people. I'm all for constructive input, but had I known…laugh my ass off.

FYI, I posted this on Tumblr 14 hrs ago and I've already had 108 reblogs, maybe 3 snarky comments out of the 108. So there. Ha!

Tony, I don't dislike your poster, any effort of this level shows your a big fan and that's awesome. I'D JUST LIKE TO SEE GIANT-MAN an d WASP in one these fan posters and your right at least about me, I can draw all of these characters pretty well but I can't put them all together in a poster. Keep it up though.

No worries. My disappointment wasn't directed at your comment. Whatever though, I obviously need to develop a thicker skin for trolls or negs.

  • Tony

How does this look to you, Master?

  • Brian

Jesus man stop trying to make it out like you're the best poster designer in the world already. The fact that you reference the lasso tool for your cuts means that yes I could do a better job on a poster. Stop trying to pawn us off as amateurs when all you did was cut and paste images.
