There are apparently a lot of vehicular chasing going on in James Mangold’s “Knight and Day”. You already saw a highway chase in some generic American city, and now here’s a motorcycle chase in some generic European city. It’s all very outrageous and over-the-top, so much so that I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out all that action in the movie was just the imagination of a bored housewife played by Cameron Diaz. Hey, now that’s an idea. Call me, Hollywood!
June Havens was just an unassuming, wholesome Midwestern gal. Then she got on the same plane as Roy Milner, international super-spy. There’s a shootout on board, and the plane has to make a crash landing. Then things really get out of control. Agents from the government tell June that Roy has had a mental breakdown and is dangerous. His behavior makes it seem like they’re telling the truth. But as the two of them are hunted around the world, June is going to have to trust Roy if they’re going to make it out alive.
Starring Peter Sarsgaard, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Maggie Grace, Paul Dano, Marc Blucas, Viola Davis, Jordi Mollà, Falk Hentschel, and directed by James Mangold.
