Another Look at Green Lantern: Emerald Knights

Here’s another image from the upcoming D.C. direct-to-DVD original movie “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights”, featuring fanboy fave Nathan Fillion as Earth’s intergalactic protector.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is an all-new DC Universe Animated Original Movie that weaves six interlocking stories of the Green Lantern Corps’ rich mythology around preparations for an attack by an ancient enemy. As the battle approaches, Hal Jordan (voiced by Nathan Fillion, Castle) mentors new recruit Arisia (Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men) in the history of the Green Lantern Corps, telling tales of Avra (the first Green Lantern) and several of Hal’s comrades – including Abin Sur, Kilowog, Laira and Mogo. In the end, Arisia must rise to the occasion to help Hal, Sinestro and the entire Green Lantern Corps save the universe from the destructive forces of Krona. Penned by comic book luminaries Geoff Johns, Dave Gibbons, Peter J. Tomasi, Eddie Berganza, Alan Burnett, Todd Casey and Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim.

Look for it on June 7, a week before the live-action movie hits theaters everywhere.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

After watching the Sneak Peek on the “All Star Superman” blu-ray I can say with all certainty that this is neither a sequel to “Fist Flight” or a direct tie-in to the live action film. It is a standalone anthology using characters from the franchise and similar art to the movie. In this Arisia is a rookie (in first flight she was an established member of the corps and Hal was the rookie) and Hal is kinda showing her the ropes. It COULD be seen as a sequel if you disregard Arisia (she wasn’t in “First Flight” all that much anyway.

Definately looks cool. Is it going to be several different stories with several different artists like Gotham Knights?

Yes and no. There are different art styles but I didn’t really see them so I don’t know how different the styles are. But it definitely looks good.
