Anthony Hopkins Has the Rite Stuff

If the power of Christ doesn’t compel you, then Anthony Hopkins will give it a shot. The venerable actor has boarded “1408” director Mikael Hafstrom’s latest supernatural offering, the exorcism movie “The Rite”.

Based on a book by Matt Baglio, “The Rite” tells the tale of a disillusioned American seminary student who finds renewed faith while attending exorcism school at the Vatican. Hopkins, who recently signed on to play Thor’s father in Marvel’s “Thor” and can currently be seen howling around in “The Wolfman”, will play a priest whose exorcism methods aren’t exactly traditional. Uh oh, you know what that means. Yup, he doesn’t clean his cross after each exorcism.

Hafstrom will direct for New Line from a script by Michael Petroni. The book by Baglio is apparently “based on true events”.

Look, all I'm saying is, you can deal with me or deal with that Hannibal the Cannibal guy. Your choice, missy.
