It’s good to be Anton Yelchin. With roles in “Star Trek Into Darkness” (still not feeling that title at all) in the pipeline, the kid who was once in line to continue the “Terminator” franchise (that, er, didn’t quite work out) will be co-starring in a new romantic comedy where he gets to have an affair with Diane Kruger (of “Troy” and lovely blonde actress lady fame).
Victor Levin (“Mad Men”) will write and direct “5 to 7″, the plot for which goes thusly:
Set in New York, where an aspiring novelist (Yelchin) has a cinq-a-sept affair with the beautiful wife of a French diplomat (Kruger). Cultures, world views, personal ethics and dietary preferences clash as love deepens, with remarkable results in this romantic comedy.
The Solution Entertainment Group’s Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel are producing, along with Mockingbird Pictures’ Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.
Production on “5 to 7″ is set for late February 2013 for, we assume, a 2013 release. After all, it’s not like romantic comedies require a lot of post-production time for, you know, big-budget CGI shots and whatnot.
Victor Levin is a producer on AMC’s “Mad Men”, and previously wrote “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!” and the remake of the Korean film “My Sassy Girl” with Elisha Cuthbert. Yeah, no one saw that one, either. “5 to 7″ is his feature film directorial debut.
