So what do you do after you’ve “retired” from Hollywood movie stardom to become Governor of a doomed State, then retire from that job? Why, you become a superhero in a comic book and proposed animated TV series, of course!
That’s apparently what former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing. The former politician is now teaming up with comic book legend Stan Lee to create his own comic book and animated series called, appropriately enough, “The Governator”, Schwarzenegger’s nickname during much of his reign in office. Both the comic book and TV series are due out sometime next year.
“The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger,” Lee says of the semi-fictional character. “We’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life. We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver]. We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”
And no, this isn’t some April Fool’s joke, even though that fun day is just around the corner. Tomorrow, in fact.
