Arnold Schwarzenegger vs. the Zombie Apocalypse in Maggie

Well, he’s killed plenty of people in his career, mind as well add plenty of the undead to the pile too, right?

The trades are reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to play the lead in the zombie film “Maggie”, with the former Governator set to stretch his acting muscles as “a father whose daughter is infected by a walking-dead virus that has spread across the country.”

Chloe MoretzThe script by John Scott 3 (yes, that’s apparently his real name) and has been in development since last year, with Paddy Considine originally attached to play the father and Chloe Moretz playing the titular infected daughter. Considine, of course, is no longer involved, though it’s unclear if Moretz, who is quite possibly one of the busiest working teen actors around, is still onboard.

Former commercials director Henry Hobson will direct (“Wanted’s” Timur Bekmambetov was originally attached), with production on “Maggie” set to begin as early as this Fall. Which, if all goes well, would mean Schwarzenegger can knock out the film before he has to start work on his “Terminator 5″ duties. Assuming, of course, that that movie gets going by early 2014 as everyone keeps saying.

Besides “Maggie” and “Terminator 5″, bodybuilder turned actor turned politician turned actor again Schwarzenegger has a slew of other projects coming up, including a third “Expendables” movie with buddy Sylvester Stallone, then “Escape Plan” (also with Sly), and “Breacher” from “End of Watch” director David Ayer. “Breacher”, by the way, may or may not have just changed its title once again, this time to “Sabotage”. (It was originally called “Ten”.)

How do you deal with infected little girls? Take notes, Arnold:
