Arrow’s Jessica De Gouw is Dracula’s Mina

Jessica De Gouw on ARROWAussie actress Jessica De Gouw, last seen mesmerizing comic book superhero Arrow on the CW’s “Arrow”, will next be seen mesmerizing bloodsucker Dracula in a new NBC TV series called, yes, “Dracula”.

De Gouw has been cast on the show next to star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who will be playing the titular fanged one.

The 10-episode series (a mega mini-series, if you will) will be set in 1890s London, and will star Rhys Meyers as Dracula, “who arrives in London posing as American entrepreneur Allen Grayson, who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier, but he falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.”

De Gouw will play Mina Murray, described as “a striking medical student who is engaged to Jonathan Harker but upon meeting Grayson both are instantly mesmerized by the other’s uncanny resemblance to someone from their past.”

Oh, Harker, always playing second fiddle to Drac…

Cole Haddon will write the pilot script for NBC, with Colin Callender executive producing.

Meh. Am I the only one who thinks she’s busted? And a terrible actress to boot.

I quite enjoyed her stint as the Huntress, but I’m gonna give this a skip. Twilight gave me an instant negative knee jerk reaction when I hear the word Vampire.
