Artwork and a Synopsis for the Upcoming Evil Dead Remake

Are you incredibly pissed off that director Sam Raimi’s genre classic “Evil Dead” is being remade? Well, my friend, that’s really too bad. It’s going to happen whether you like it or not, so you might as well get used to the idea and save yourself some grief in the process. A title card for the film recently made an appearance at AFM, which has been getting quite a bit of coverage around here as of late. Additionally, an official plot synopsis has finally appeared, though, unless you’re just unfamiliar with the material, it really isn’t anything you didn’t already know.

And here it is:

Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Fede Alvarez is directing the remake, which will also double as his feature-length debut. I’d hate to be this guy if this one tanks. Even if it does, he’ll always have to contend with the movie’s legion of creepy, die-hard fans. No offense, of course.
